About Me-Life Updates!!

Updated: Aug 7, 2020

Hello! It's been a while since I've created a blog post, so I wanted to update my followers! My name is Taylor 👋and I am 25 years old. I am from a small town in Payson Illinois. I went to college at Quincy University and Blessing Rieman College of Nursing in Quincy, IL and graduated with my BSN in May 2017. I currently am working as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist helping others to get healthy and reduce obesity related disease conditions with a whole-food based lifestyle, and I also work as Independent Consultant with Arbonne helping others reach their highest potential of health and wealth.

⠀⠀

I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life, to be expected, but I hate that society makes us decide what we want to do with our lives at age 18. I just knew I wanted to help people. My personality tests in high school always had a wide range of jobs I'd be good at. I am a very soft spoken, caring person, so nursing was recommended to me by my friends and family. I thought it would be the perfect fit for my life. Well when I was in college I began looking into alternative medicine. I became very fascinated with holistic health and preventative care. I started reading nutrition books, watching nutritional documentaries, and learning how disease is related to what we put in our body and around our body.

Well, what I learned was a lot more than I imagined I would find. As some time went on

and I was working as a bedside nurse, I didn’t feel like I was living out my calling or fulfilling my true purpose. Working in the hospital had me feeling like I was not helping people in the way I most wanted too- in a preventative way. I want to be in the front of disease prevention, not necessarily within it, not necessarily at the bedside. I do not always agree with medicine. And that is why I am so passionate about prevention. That is when I decided to look into starting my own side business and working in more holistic health role with a focus on nutrition.

I do think nursing is an amazing career. You can do many things with a nursing degree and it is very fulfilling....but also very exhausting and high rates of burn out. I am thankful for my time and experience as a nurse. I have a giving soul and I truly believe I am here to serve others. 🙏🏻 I am not here on this earth just to be a nurse. I want to help people in other preventative ways I know are possible: through diet and lifestyle changes. Getting certified in Holistic Nutrition was the first step in helping people in other ways I knew was possible. Starting my own nutrition business was the next step. Transforming lives in the ways I truly believe in is absolutely the most rewarding. I also have an Arbonne business. If you don't know what Arbonne is, we are a global health and wellness company that embraces the holistic connection between a healthier mind, stronger body, and more beautiful skin. You can check out my arbonne website here www.taylorplunk.arbonne.com.

In the midst of the world going through some big changes, what seems like its falling apart, I have been able to do some soul searching and find out what really makes me happy. I have been doing traveling nursing the last year and I have had some amazing experiences. I am proud to say I’ve had the choice to take time off & reflect on my job and work as a nurse. To go purse my other passions. To help people in other ways❤️. I’ve taken on new opportunities during this time and I am so grateful. Biggest takeaway I’ve learned is: you have to do what makes YOU happy!

You have to create your own life. You have to do it for YOU. No one else can love your life except you. No one else has the same thoughts or feelings or perceptions of things you do. I am all about doing what makes you happy and living your best life. I am passionate about health & wellness, especially prevention. Taking control of your life. Without your health you have nothing. Start there. Start focusing on your health and what actually matters. I like focus on my health, happiness, having wealth, serving others, and having an abundant life! Thanks for reading❤️
