My 5 Simple & Effective Tips to Master Your 2021 Goals!

Imagine it is December 31st, 2021. Looking back on your year, what did you do? What have you accomplished? What are you proud of?

What did you aim to do that you didn't? What are some things you don't want to look back and say "I wish I would’ve done that"?

Pro Tip- write this down! Get it on paper.

What I wish for you is to not let another year go by that you move further away from the success curve and closer and closer to the failure curve.. you are either only on one or the other at all times. Think about this success vs failure curve for all areas of life: health, wealth, relationships, self growth. Day in and day out your actions are moving you closer towards either success or failure in these areas.

Reaching your goals and staying on the success curve is about the little every day tasks that add up to success. It is the positive, habitual actions you do everyday, consistently, overtime.

Which brings me to my first tip of my 5 Tips for Mastering Your 2021 Goals!

Tip #1. Stay consistent. Set the end date of your goal to be a year out (like Dec 31st 2021), that way you do not give up too soon. The end goal must be stretching, and something you have to commit to working on every single day. Consistency always wins, just as with the story of the Hare & the Tortoise- slow, steady, & consistency wins the race. Stay consistent everyday doing the actions that will get you closer to your goals. Even if you mess up and take some actions that move you towards the failure curve, get back on track and back on the success curve as soon as possible.

Tip #2. Plan ahead for all occasions. Make a doable 24 hour plan everyday. Plan for meal prep. Plan for self care time. Plan for time to work out. Plan for 1:1 time with your family. Plan for every event and situation. Not only will this help you stick to your goals, but it will also help relieve the day to day anxiety and mental battle with decision making. This will specially help for the end of the day exhaustion when your brain wants nothing but less choices to make. Your brain wants to form habits so that it doesn't have to think about everything, as our brains are constantly being flooded with information. Try working with your body instead of against it by allowing for healthy habits to consume you, such as planning ahead.

Tip #3. Commit to mastery. Decide that the only way to go is forward, there is no back up plan, there is no other option than to be successful. As you start taking action towards your goals, the universe will unravel the plans it has for you. You will not know exactly how you will get to the end of your goal, but as long as you are striving and making progressions, the answers will come along the way. Goals require commitment and dedication. There’s no other way around it. Commit to your goals, believe in yourself, work hard, and achievement will come.

Tip #4: Break it down. Break down the goal into small actionable steps. Draw a picture of a staircase with your end goal at the top, write below the first step where you are now, and then fill in each next step with what action you need to take next to reach that goal. Don't focus so much on reaching that end goal, but more importantly taking action on the steps that you need to take to get there! Focus on building small habits for each step that you can keep up. Like I said it's really the every day actions that will get you to your end goal, and you want it to be something you can keep up long term! Once you get to the top of the stairs, or reach your end goal, then shoot for something bigger and write out a new goal. Never stop growing!

Tip #5: Track your progress! You cannot know if you are making progress if you are not tracking. It is important to regularly check-in on your goal progress and take note of where you are and where you need to go next. You cannot tell if you are making progress without measuring the results you are getting. You can track this in a habit tracker, a goal management tool, in a personal journal for your goals (you can use any notebook), or simply a note page on your phone, but it's better to write things out on paper. Self- monitoring progress through pictures and journaling appears to actually improve psychological health, well-being and improves the outcome.

I hope these tips help you!
